Update

An update on the Harris'
We have adopted a new four legged friend into our family-
The story behind the adoption: Columbus day weekend was an exciting one. My parents came in to surprise me for my birthday- They just didnt know they would be helping us rescue a dog. It was the Sunday before my parents were going to leave and we were on our way to run a few errands. On our way out we spotted a dog trying to cross one of the busy streets we live by. I made my parents stop because I felt that we needed to get her to a safe place before she was hit. My dad loaded her up and back home we went. We decided to keep her for the night with plans of taking her to a shelter Monday morning. Martin told me not to fall in love with her because we were not keeping her. Martin on the other hand did not stick to that. He fell instantly in love. Bright and early Monday morning we took her to the vet. Sadly our Bluebell suffers from wanting too much love and heartworms. Bluebell will be going through what the vet called "dog chemmo" in a few more months. In a year we will have another hunting dog/running dog for Martin. Until then she is taking it easy and receiving A LOT OF LOVE.

Martin has started BOLC and is enjoying his time as a "student" again. I am slowly getting the hang of being by myself at night when he is in the field. Though I find I hear scary noises that I normally wouldn't hear when Martin is home. I have to watch the coin channel to put me to sleep because the dark makes the noises louder. I work now as a stylist at the Blue Door Boutique (one of my absolute favorite stores) http://www.thebluedoorboutique.com/
We are getting excited about going home for Christmas to see all of our family and friends. All three dogs will be joining us on our long journey home! We will see how that goes... It may be a crazy 12 hour drive.

Settled In

We have made it Phenix City and living without internet! Our house is all set up and ready for visitors!

We have found ourselves relaxing way too much! Martin is enjoying his time off that is for sure. The dogs have adjusted well. Our neighbors have dogs so they have made some friends. I am currently searching for a job. I have my heart set on a teaching job but am not sure if I will be able to find anything that will take me without a Georgia teaching certificate. Fingers crossed though.

We had a great fourth of July weekend. We went to the festivities on post Saturday and had a blast. My life is filled with honor and pride for our country and I am so blessed to be here with Martin. Sunday we found our way to the lake. We taught Dagger how to finally ENJOY the water. Did a little fishing but with no luck. Monday we found ourselves lounging around the house.  We had a few friends over for a nice BBQ and then watched fireworks from our front yard.

I am headed home in three weeks for one of my best friends wedding. We aren't sure if Martin will be able to get off to come for the week but we sure as heck are going to try. The dogs will be joining me on my 10 hour drive back to the land of TEXAS! I am so excited to be going back home for some family time. GTT

We hope that everyone is having a great summer and enjoying the HOT weather! :) Pictures will be coming soon of the house once we get real internet and I can upload good ones.

"Yeah Man"

Our honeymoon was spent in Mont ego Bay Jamaica. It was paradise there. When first arriving to Jamaica I was in scardy cat mode. Of course Martin, made me seem like I was overacting to the situation. After going through customs we had to find out way to the hotel. Once finding a reputable transportation company we were escorted (by a maintenance man) to an unmarked bus. We were the only ones on it. The man then asked Martin for a tip and shut the door behind him. That's when i went into panic mode. Here we are, in a foreign land on an unmarked bus, possibly locked in, and Martin just tipped the man for our MURDER! Luckily though, the man turned out legit and got us to our resort alive.

We spent 7 days in paradise. Our hotel was all inclusive so of course we weren't going to leave. After awhile though we found ourselves in cabin fever so we decided to do an excursion. WELL, my idea of an excursion is relaxing on a beach after snorkeling. Martin's idea has to do with more extreme scenarios. We were told that while in Jamaica we had to go to Dunn's River Falls. It is a 961 foot water fall that is a must to do while there. So we found an excursion that would take us snorkeling (I wanted to do) and to the falls. So I agreed to it. The morning of Martin kept asking me if I was sure I was going to be able to climb the falls. I found this such an odd question. I mean how hard could it be going up the stairs of the side of a water fall?  When arriving to the falls I was in complete awe. The place was beautiful. Our guide told us to make sure all of our strings were snug on our bathing suit. So this is where I started to ask questions... Why? arent we just going up the stairs? Is the water that powerful on the stairs? Then he had us hold hands and told us that this is the safest way up the falls. I then start freaking! How steep is this thing? How many stairs are we climbing? Martin must have asked me a million times if I was sure I was going to be okay. I then realized shortly why he continued to ask me this. We did not go up the stairs, we went on the rocks in the gushing waters of the actual waterfall!!!! I am happy to say that we both made up to the top!

We tried to stay longer in Jamaica but sadly we have furniture arriving at the house in Georgia, and we had to get back. We are tired but glad to be home.

Our Wedding Day

May 28 was a special day for the two of us. We were so happy that so many friends and family were there to share the day with us. We are excited about what our future holds. In the upcoming weeks we will be attending Martin's brothers graduation, going on our honeymoon, and moving to Georgia. We can not wait!
